One thing that really helped me in the Vancouver camp was the schedule that we kept there. In the camp, every morning after 7am phone sing, we had almost an hour to draw near to God, and read the Bible. Later, when we set off to volunteer at the Summer Day Camp, we had some time to worship with some of the other volunteers, and then yet another time to worship afterwards. In the worship, I didn’t feel it was boring or too repetitive, instead the worships helped me to feel more and more settled before God and helped me to enter deeper into God’s love and how committed He is to us. Having so much time to be close to God by myself and with brothers and sisters helped me realize that I really need both of these times in my everyday life so that I can be close to God. Dedicating such a big chunk of my day to worship also helped me to remember God more throughout the day.

Another thing that really helped me in this camp was the free time we had. Every day after summer day camp, we had over 2 hours of free time. Having so much time to myself helped me to realize that oftentimes, I don’t really know what I’m doing.

Coming back from Vancouver, I have tried my best to plan out my time better every day and to try and prioritize the right things instead of doing whatever I want. When I tried planning my day out, I finished the things I needed to do much faster, which left more time for me to do things that were more enjoyable to me. Doing this helps me to fully utilize my time and is much better than procrastinating or forgetting about everything.
